WFH x Boundaries
Many of us strive for work / life balance. Now WFH, this has been particularly tough to achieve—our workspace & personal spaces are essentially the same. And given this greater reliance on tech to keep up communication, we’re never really “offline.”
“Feeling a lack of boundaries on when you need to start working (and stop!), when you need to get up and go to sleep, when to log off of social media, and more can feel like true liberation. This feeling, however, can gradually morph into a feeling of being out of control for many who don't expect it.”
On one hand, we’ve really enjoyed the flexibility of WFH—there’s no need to dress up (unless we want to!), being able to cook lunch and eat it fresh, and so forth. On the other end, it’s been challenging knowing when we should unplug—it’s normal to experience either or both. @verywellmind has come up with a few tips for managing the stressors of WFH including:
— Set a schedule
— Create a cohort and stay connected
— Reward yourself
— Get comfortable saying no
— Protect your sleep, and don’t use mobile devices late at night
